Vintage Dump 1/9/24 - Oklahoma State University
Going to start doing vintage clothes dumps focusing on style from the 80's and 90's
I really enjoy vintage style from the late 80’s and early 90’s and was doing thrifting in college before it was a thing. A lot of the things I find have inspired me to make best selling clothing at Old Row and I collect a lot of samples I find along the way for my personal vintage collection.
Sometimes I have shared on Twitter or Instagram stories, but I recently thought substack may be a cool place to archive these finds as well as allow followers to discover things with me (and add to their own collection when I don’t scoop them up from eBay and other sites for myself)
For my first “Vintage Dump”, I am going to focus on my alma mater, Oklahoma State University, so if you don’t like the Pokes, this post probably isn’t for you! Don’t worry though… I plan to cover a wide variety of schools, teams, bands, politicians, destinations, holidays etc. over the coming year with awesome vintage stuff. Hope you enjoy! This aztec print hat is pretty unique, never seen one like it before, and love the font. Hat blank is Annco which I have never heard of before. PROTIP: Sometimes when you find an obscure blank like this, it can help lead you down a vintage rabbit hole on eBay by searching for the blank model or name with the phrase vtg or vintage and seeing what shows up.
Next up is a pretty rad vintage shape/line design, but the funny part to me is the bad embroidery on Pistol Pete makes him look like an obese monster. Kind of rare to find a mistake looking mascot like this on official merch.
One of my favorites I found was this rare BLUE Golf Pete hat, which appears to have sold after I posted it to Twitter/X. Hope it went to a good home, haven’t seen ANYTHING else like this on eBay:
Next up is a SUPER clean OSU hat, apparently from the “Big 8” days. The shape of this snapback is awesome with the old school structure which is very rare these days:
What a glorious side profile, and it even has a Phillips 66 logo (pre Conoco Phillips, which proves the authenticity)
This next one I am not sure about the authenticity. The sizes and quantities available make me think it is possibly a reproduction jacket, but if it is, it is REALLY good. It certainly has the look of a true vintage bomber jacket. If you care about TRUE vintage, it may be worth enquiring with the website its listed on to verify.
Last up for this week is a vintage Starter Jacket, including retired logos!
If you like my vintage dump, stay tuned for more like this. Feel free to leave requests in the comments and I will add it to my research!

Who wouldn’t want to get down with “Chubby Pete”?! The satin jacket and starter jacket en fuego. Thanks for sharing!
